Our message to socialize the neighborhood is sure getting out! On Jan. 16, we toasted the new year with more than 40 people in the cozy and chic Mexican restaurant Masa Azul (@masaazul, 2901 W. Diversey).
Owner Jason Lerner welcomed neighbors, local business owners and the LoganSquarist team to their slightly off-the-beaten-path (but worth wandering off the boulevard for) hot spot.
We rubbed shoulders throughout the evening while sampling Chef Jonathan Zaragoza’s mini tacos and the drink special of the evening: renowned bartender Jenny Kessler’s The Heart of the Dead, one of many intriguing cocktails found on their bar menu.
Lovely floral arrangements were provided by Fleur.

But they weren’t the only business in attendance to meet neighbors and stave off the winter blues, however. Paul from Logan Square Farmers Market, RoadieCab, Now Studio, Anna Sells Chicago, The Scrumptious Pantry, Room Ten Designs and Logan Pets, just to name a few, all came to the first LoganSquarist Meetup of 2013.
Nancy Schiavone, who’s running for the 35th Ward Alderman position, also popped in.
A big thanks to everyone who made this evening possible and to all the neighbors who so enthusiastically come out every month and make Logan Square the place to be. See you in February!
