Hailing from moto and Tru, chef D’Andre Carter and sommelier Heather Bublick are taking their underground dinner series, Feast and Imbibe (@FeastandImbibe), on the road. This time they are headed to Jam Restaurant (@Jamrestaurant, 3057 W. Logan Blvd.).
For three nights only, April 12-14, Carter and Bublick will be entertaining guests in style with a four-course menu ($75) and wine pairings ($95).
Jam, a local favorite, has opened its doors to bring great chef events. With its open kitchen, upscale dining room and evening availability, Jam is the perfect fit for visiting chefs to feel confident partnering with.
Several weeks ago, Jam hosted The Fat Shallot (@thefatshallot), a brand new pop-up chef group. “It was so great to be at a one night only, special event,” says Kiva, one of the attendees. “The chefs talked to us personally about each dish, and it made it a spectacular event for anyone to enjoy, food-lover or not. The personal attention you get is just phenomenal, and it’s a custom menu that you can’t get in any restaurant, close to home.”
“We hope to bring great events to our community, in addition to our regular daily menu that draws people in,” says Anthony Fiore, owner of Jam. “We really think there is a great opportunity to showcase famed chefs in our own Logan Square business. If local residents support this by attending, we will be able to offer more and more of these to the community.”
The four-course menu includes Feast & Imbibe’s coconut milk braised lamb belly, hand pulled noodles and their decadent chocolate truffle with Italian summer truffle dessert.
“The food is modern, creative, interesting and most importantly, tastes amazing. This was one of the most fun dining experiences I have had in recent history and definitely plan to return soon,” says diner Erick Neu.
What makes Feast & Imbibe even more special is that Bublick, a consummate sommelier, develops the wine pairings, a rarity for a pop-up dining experience. “Wine can be unapproachable,” says Bublick, “there is a lot of information to take in. I want the pairings to enhance the dish but also be something the guest enjoys on its own. It’s about trying new things.” Combine this with Carter’s reputation as an über-cook and the event is sure to please.
Tickets can be purchased at www.tablehost.com, a Chicago-based reservation and event ticketing company. “By having a platform that can advertise both the Chef event and the restaurant, we are able to support restaurants that want to host a variety of events. A lot of information needs to be provided for guests: what the menu will be, what to expect for ambiance and an assurance that the event will be something they will enjoy,” says Kristy Kitzmiller, CEO of Table Host.
Seating for this event is available every half hour on Friday, April 12, 7 pm to 9 pm; Saturday, April 13, 6 pm to 9 pm; and Sunday, April 14, 6 pm to 9 pm.
