Patio season may be in full swing now, but back in May, LoganSquarist got a jump on the al fresco dining frenzy at our monthly meetup hosted by D’Noche (@CafeDNoche, 2710 N. Milwaukee Ave.). We made full use of their adorable back space, which was aglow with lively chatter, laughter and general merrymaking.
In addition to our team of dedicated LoganSquarist Ambassadors, the event was attended by a mix of first-timers and meetup veterans. It’s amazing to have the support of such a great network of people (who just happen to be a lot of fun to hang out with). Later there were whispers of an alderman spotting. Indeed, Rey Colon happened to be dining there that night and caught the tail end of our festivities.
The drinks kept flowing as the night went on, thanks to a $5 margarita special that made it all too easy to indulge in sweet and salty sips. As if on cue, a plate of hot snacks, including mini tacos and cheesy sticks, appeared from the kitchen and garnered the attention of nearly every patio partyer.
Making Your Acquaintance
In addition to being a resource in the digital sphere, LoganSquarist aims to bring our relationship with the neighborhood to life through a variety of events. We had a blast at our highly successful fundraiser in May, and in addition June’s meetup at renowned corner cafe Township (@yourtownship, 2200 N. California Ave.), we also launched Summer on the Boulevard, where you can spread out on a grassy patch and kick it with neighbors. We’ll hold the next one on August 10.
We also saw many new faces at our booth at the Milwaukee Avenue Arts Fest, and we hope to see some (or all!) of them again at our July meetup at Table, Donkey and Stick (@TableDonkeyInn, 2728 W. Armitage Ave.) on July 17 at 7 pm. Get out from behind your computer or phone and come see us!
