Looking for a mid-week activity to enjoy in the neighborhood? Check out the Logan Square Night Market (@LSQNightMarket), which runs every Wednesday night from 4-8 pm in the concrete space where Milwaukee Avenue and Kedzie Boulevard meet. Originally planned for grassy Palmer Square, the Night Market made a last minute shift, landing instead at the Logan Square Blue Line station.
Entertainment & Arts at the Night Market
Entertainment for the Night Market is curated by Elastic Arts (@elasticarts). For the first several weeks, the market featured performances of Romeo and Juliet by theater group The Hypocrites (@thehypocrites). The evening of July 24 saw a performance by cellist Shannon Hayden (pictured above), and a duo of well-liked subway performers are set to share a doo-wop performance on July 31 (you might recognize their Sam Cooke renditions from the Clark & Lake or Jackson Blue Line stops). All Night Market performances take place in the Culture Coach, a traveling pop-up stage salvaged from a Madison, Wisconsin junkyard.
Neighborhood arts and culture organization I Am Logan Square (@IAmLoganSquare) is in charge of booking visual artists for the Night Market. Contact I Am Logan Square for details on setting up a booth.
Food & Drink
Food comes from near and far at the market, with mushrooms and salsas from River Valley Ranch & Kitchens, all-natural artisanal sodas from Seasons Sodas, baked goods from Paper Moon Pastry (@papermoonpastry) and more. There are plenty of options for grabbing produce for the week ahead, or a fresh and quick dinner for the evening. If you stop by Letizia’s Fiore‘s (@LetiziasFiore) booth for homemade pasta, Fabio Sorano and his crew will recommend pairings from various booths at the market.
