How long have you lived in Logan Square?
I’m going to say I’ve vicariously lived in the neighborhood for two years now (But it’s only been three months officially).
Favorite neighborhood hangouts?
Most likely you’ll see me at Gaslight Coffee Roasters (@Gaslight_Coffee, 2385 N. Milwaukee Ave.). Possibly you might bump into me at Joe’s Barbershop (@JoesBarbershopp, 2641 W. Fullerton Ave.). Half Acre, shop talk and a good haircut.
You have a passion for fashion. What sparked your interest?
(I was) trying to find the perfect pair of jeans that were also consciously made. After doing an embarrassing amount of internet research, I found out about Raw Denim (these are the pants you don’t wash for six-plus months at a time) and Nudie Jeans. I still have that original pair, which have faded and contrasted amazingly. That idea of having fashion that is ethically made at accessible price points is still a pet passion of mine. Hopefully in the future I can work with brands who share the same ideologies. Thankfully, with a renewed interest in American-made goods, this is starting to come back around again.
What does your average Friday night look like?
Who are your role models or heroes?
This is hard. I don’t have just one role model or hero, since all of my friends and the people I’ve met in my life have all been influential and supportive. They’re all doing incredibly amazing things with their lives. I’m just going to say if I’m lucky enough to have worked with you professionally and/or shared a drink with you, you’ve inspired me in more ways than you know. I’m really grateful for meeting and keep meeting new wonderful people.
Listen to any good music lately?
Chicago’s been going through a musical renaissance lately, so that’s what I’ve been listening to: theWHOevers latest album has everything from bangers (Time Out) to smooth listening (Burn). I’ve been digging ShowYouSuck’s 80’s Boobs too. DJ Rashad’s Double Cup, Chance The Rapper’s Acid Rap, Deerhunter, The National, A$AP Rocky, A$AP Ferg, Burial and DJ Koze were all on perpetual repeat throughout the year.
What were your favorite TV shows growing up?
Star Trek. Not even ashamed. It was all about X-Men Saturday mornings though. When I was a kid, I did love Fraiser even though 90 percent of the jokes were over my head. Now that I think about it, I have no idea why I loved that show.
Shameless self promotion:
You can find me on OkCupid (just kidding, that was deleted). You should and can follow me on Instagram. Sometimes, I upload music onto my SoundCloud.
