String of Burglaries in the Neighborhood
The Bureau of Detectives—Area North is warning 14th district residents of an increase in burglaries in December and January. The Bureau is reminding residents to be aware of crime in the neighborhoods.
Detectives primarily warned the residents of Beats 1411, 1412, 1413 and 1414 of the burglaries. This area is bound by Armitage Avenue to the south and Belmont Avenue to the north, Central Park Avenue to the west and Western Avenue to the east.
According to the community alert, offenders are breaking into residents’ homes via a back window and taking property. Police advise residents to be aware of any suspicious loitering, and to make sure doors and windows are locked. Residents should call 911 immediately with a description of offenders, vehicles and direction of travel if possible if an incident should occur.

New Duplexes in Logan Square
According to Curbed Chicago, Logan Square can expect one new three-flat and two duplexes on the 2500 block of north Linden Pl. in April.
Prices for the flats at 2528-2534 N. Linden Pl. will start at $350,000, and duplexes in the window-laden buildings will start at $530,000, according to Curbed. Rooftop decks and detached garages are included in the buildings’ permits.
The development group GNP Development Inc. (Indigo Homes) is spearheading the construction, and the units will be listed by North Clybourn Group’s Biazar Group.
Tenants to Picket Management Company
Tenants of M. Fishman & Co. properties in Logan Square have organized a picket outside the company’s offices this evening.
The tenants of 2536 N. Sawyer Ave. began organizing after they say they felt threatened by M. Fishman & Co’s practices regarding rent increases and building issues.
Community members and tenants will meet on the Kedzie & Fullerton avenue median at 4 pm and march to the M. Fishman & Co. office (3215 W. Fullerton Ave.) at 4:30 pm. Following the picket, the group plans on continuing to The Logan Theater (@TheLoganTheatre, 2646 N. Milwaukee Ave.) to engage patrons and passersby in conversation.
