Man In Critical Condition After Vehicle Accident
A man is in a medically induced coma after the driver of a BMW, Jose Davalia, failed to stop at a stop sign at Central Park & Belden and hit the victim who was riding a moped on June 12, according to a Chicago Tribune article.
Davalia is charged with failure to report an accident and driving on a suspended license, according to the article. After Davalia fleed the accident site, onlookers took down his license plate and reported it to the police, according to the Tribune.
Davalia, of the 3200 block of West Palmer Avenue was arrested at his home later that evening. The victim remains in critical at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, the article states.
Woman Shot In Knee
A 22-year-old woman was shot in the knee early in the morning on June 15 on the 2200 block of North Sacramento Avenue, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
After being shot at 2:50 am, the woman was taken to Norwegian-American Hospital where she was listed in stable condition as of Sunday, according to the Sun-Times.
Illinois Man Charged in Logan Square Shooting
A man shot a pedestrian the morning of June 10 on the 2300 block of North Lawndale, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Joshua D. Perez of Oakwood flashed gang signs to two pedestrians walking down Fullerton Avenue and fired three times at the pedestrians after he went around the block, according to the article. Perez admitted to using a .45-caliber handgun to shoot at the pedestrians, the Tribune reports.
Only one of the pedestrians was shot and was released from the hospital June 11, according to the Tribune.
