Logan Square’s restaurant and creative scene continues to garner attention as seven local businesses and individuals took home titles in the Chicago magazine’s 2014 Best of Chicago awards.
Logan Square received plenty of attention in the food and drink category, but according to Chicago magazine, it also is home to Chicago’s Best Experimental Comedian, Ian Abramson (@iantherage). Just one look at Abramson’s latest tweets and you’ll see why he’s one of the best.
Not only are people from the neighborhood funny, but they’re pretty good Instagramers, too. Chicago magazine rates Clayton Hauck (@claytonhauck) as one of Chicago’s top Instagrammers.
Need a haircut in Logan Square? Logan Square residents can now boast about Chicago magazine’s Best New Salon, Logan Parlor (@LoganParlor, 3251 W. Fullerton Ave.). Logan Parlor is set to host LoganSquarist’s next neighbor meet-up tomorrow.

Recently-opened Toy de Jour: Vintage, Toys, Arts & Farts (@ToydeJour, 2064 N. Western Ave.) was named Best Nostalgia Trip. Any really, what’s not to love about a store with the word “fart” in its name?
Of course, if you need a place to eat or drink, the neighborhood did not fall short when it came to good food and libations awards. The Radler (@DasRadler, 2375 N. Milwaukee Ave.) is serving up the Best Artisanal Beer, says Chicago magazine. And just up the street at Analogue (2523 N. Milwaukee Ave.), you can find the city’s Best Bar Food.
If it’s local food you’re looking for, though, no need to leave the neighborhood because Cellar Door Provisions (@quichencounty, 3025 W. Diversey Ave.) serves up the Best Farm-to-Table Everything.
Chicago magazine also ranks the best new bars, coffee shops and restaurants in a few popular neighborhoods. In Logan Square, Analogue was named Best New Bar in the neighborhood, and Intelligentsia (@IntelliCHI, 2642 N. Milwaukee Ave.) came in as Best New Coffee Shop. The Radler is Logan Square’s Best New Restaurant, according to the magazine.
Finally, according to Chicago magazine readers, Revolution Brewing’s (@RevBrewChicago, 2323 N. Milwaukee Ave.) Anti-Hero IPA won Best Beer and Revolution itself won Best Craft Brewery. The Radler made another appearance as the readers’ pick of Best German Food, and Diversey River Bowl (@DRBowl, 2211 W. Diversey Pkwy) came in as Best Bowling Alley.
