Armed Robbers Targeting Food Delivery Drivers, Pedestrians in Logan, Police Warn
Both food delivery drivers and pedestrians have been targeted in attacks around western Logan Square in the past two weeks, Chicago Police Department’s 14th District said in a business alert.
The incidents occurred in the 3500 block of W. McLean Ave., the 3500 block of W. Dickens Ave., the 2000 block of N. Drake Ave., and the 3500 block of W. Shakespeare Ave. They took place on Jan. 11, 14, 17 and 18, respectively. Three were logged around 9 p.m., though the Jan. 11 robbery on McLean happened at 3:33 p.m.
CPD warned that the same men responsible for the food delivery robberies seem to be behind the street robberies. The police advised business owners and employees to take note of anyone lingering or loitering near the area and report them to the police. They also recommended delivery people park in a well-lit area whenever possible.
