Logan Square may have enjoyed a moderate holiday season, but the beginning of the new year reminded us what it is really like to be a Chicago resident in the winter. With our first true snowfall occurring on Sunday, Jan. 4, we were immediately visited by the snow’s good friend, the freezing cold. Wednesday, Jan. 7 brought us to frigid temperatures as low as 1˚F, with wind chills at -22˚F. The cold weather kept the streets oddly quiet with a low number of pedestrians and bikers in Logan Square. Hopefully this is the worst of the winter weather and not a glimpse of what is yet to come.
