I moved to Logan Square a year ago, and the first place I visited down the street from my apartment was Logan Hardware (2532 W. Fullerton Ave). I was very excited to have a record store only a short walk away, and I’ve since then become a regular visitor, searching for the next gem to add to my vinyl collection.
Logan Hardware opened in January 2010 two blocks down from its current location. In July 2013, the store was relocated, doubling its inventory and adding a vintage Arcade Museum in the back. The store boasts a massive collection of LPs and 45s to sift through, as well as shelves of CDs, VHS, DVDs, and cassettes. It offers listening stations and also sponsors local artists with in-store performances.
I always have a pleasant experience at Logan Hardware. With friendly informative staff, a great selection of vinyl and some classic arcade games to kill some time, it’s the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
