What’s your name and what do you do at LoganSquarist?
Lauren Hollasch, Events Manager
Where are you from originally?
Buffalo, New York!
When did you join?
My first month of living in Chicago [July 2015], I attended my first LoganSquarist Neighbor Meetup. It was a big reason why I moved to the neighborhood!
Do you work in events professionally?
No, although I have done a lot of community event planning in the past.
Since you aren’t an event manager professionally, what made you interested in planning events and volunteering for LoganSquarist?
When I moved to Chicago, I knew no one and knew nothing about Chicago. I figured it would be an incredible way to meet people and get acclimated to the neighborhood! (Which – it has!)
I also love being the hype man and wanted to plan events to get hyped about!
What is your favorite LoganSquarist Event?
The LoganSquarist Taco Crawl … WOW! So much FUN! Tacos, tequila and LoganSquarist is a great time!
What is your favorite restaurant in Logan Square?
Bang Bang Pie Shop, hands down.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the neighborhood?
The Logan Square Farmers Market on a beautiful August day.
What has been the best part about joining the team?
Meeting all sorts of incredible people, and being truly inspired each time I talk to our publisher/founder, Kate Hamilton. She has the ability to inspire and influence a whole neighborhood — what a true gift!
