Park & Field (3509 W. Fullerton Ave.) is the brainchild of Dave Nalezny, Dan Nalezny and Kitty Izzo and is a new sports lounge in the burgeoning area on Fullerton in West Logan Square. Together, the three bring more than 20 years of combined experience in the food, beverage and design industries. The result is a relaxed, low key atmosphere not just to watch your favorite team defend the home turf, but also lounge and converse with friends over satisfying cocktails and a well thought out farm to table menu.

Upon entering the large overhead garage door at 3509 W. Fullerton, you will find the space has been decorated with well-curated, turn of the century sports memorabilia, classical furniture and a relaxing, approachable vibe that you would not expect to see in a typical sports bar. The back room features a large lounge with cozy leather couches surrounding a fireplace. There’s even a few long tables made from re-purposed bowling lanes to fit larger parties.
More athletic club than sports bar, the establishment hearkens back to a time of vintage sophistication that is rarely seen in bars these days.

The building itself is a 100-plus-year-old converted auto garage with whitewashed interior brick walls and exposed rafters – adding to the venue’s old neighborhood charm.
Dave and his wife Kitty spent over a year scouting the perfect location for their project and settled on this location due to its local proximity and large front patio. The trio wanted to bring a new type of sports bar to Logan Square, one that would attract a discerning clientele and not just “sports bros.”
The 6,000 square foot front patio has plenty of seating with several blankets to help cozy you up around the two oversized fire pits. Great for outdoor socializing in the colder seasons of Chicago.
In the warmer months the front patio will feature bocce courts and a vintage camper turned bar.

More than a sports bar, Park and Filed will be a local hangout for those who enjoy watching sports or even just a really good cocktail and a bite to eat.
Check their Facebook page for exact opening dates. The Tribune reports they’ll open in the next week.
