Six years ago, I launched this little idea of socializing the neighborhood of Logan Square through social engagement, local events and community news. Today, LoganSquarist has grown to become a go-to resource, largely in part due to neighbor support and an amazing group of staffers lending their volunteer time.
To say the experience of launching and building LoganSquarist is a humbling one is an understatement. I have continually been blessed by the experiences this amazing organization has offered me.
At our annual fundraiser, we’re celebrating this amazing entity we’ve been able to build together and raising money so we can continue to serve the area we love so near and dear.
LoganSquarist Annual Fundraiser Held at Stan Mansion
This year, the LoganSquarist Annual Fundraiser will be held Thursday, May 11 at 7 p.m. at the historic Stan Mansion (2408 N. Kedzie Blvd.). The event will celebrate LoganSquarist’s six-year anniversary and proceeds will go to covering our operating costs. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Logan Square Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago, which serves residents of the Logan Square, Avondale and Humboldt Park communities by providing comprehensive programs for young people ages 6-18.
Tickets for the event are available here and are $35 online, $40 at the door.
The event features a dress-up cocktail event and sips and nibbles from local sponsors, including Marcello’s restaurant, Mesh & Bone and Reed’s Local. In other words, we have your cocktails covered.
In addition, don’t miss the silent auction with items from Buona Terra, Twisted Scissors, *play, Wolfbait & B-Girls, Dill Pickle and dozens of other businesses.
Photobooth, Music & Safari
Also, don’t miss checking out the photo booth courtesy of Fotio and tunes provided by JiveFresh. And the opportunity to win a all-expenses-paid South African safari trip (all you have to do is get there!) in our raffle.
Extra special thanks to our event sponsors and partners Stan Mansion, Marcello’s and Soothsayer Hot Sauce.
You can learn more about LoganSquarist and “meet” the staff. See you next Thursday!
