What’s your role with LoganSquarist?
My role is an Events Manager here at LoganSquarist.
Where are you from originally?
I’m originally from the booming metropolis of Springfield, but I moved to Chicago after living in Las Cruces, New Mexico for several years.
When did you join?
I joined the team earlier this year! Yay!
Do you do coordinate events professionally?
I’ve always done event planning as a volunteer, both coordinating workplace community outreach opportunities and at various nonprofit organizations.
What made you interested in volunteering for LoganSquarist?
I wanted to do LoganSquarist because I’d recently stepped off the board of a great organization, so I was looking for a new outlet for my energy. I’ve always loved being engaged in the community, and I thought this was a great opportunity to do so!
What is your favorite LoganSquarist event you worked on?
I’ve genuinely enjoyed all the events, but I think my favorite event has to be the LoganSquarist Amazing Race. The weather was beautiful, the teams were fun, and it was just good-spirited fun. The Taco Crawl was a very close second! (Boo rain!)
What is your favorite restaurant in Logan Square?
Favorite restaurant? That’s SUCH a loaded question, so I’m going to cheat. Best regional cuisine goes to my buds Brian and Jen at Dos Urban Cantina. Best farm-to-table is Giant. And of course, the best tacos are made by my guys Jason and Jay at Masa Azul because tacos are a whole other food group.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the neighborhood?
The activities that make Logan home to us are riding our bikes to the Farmers Market and grabbing a drink with our pals at Billy Sunday.
What has been the best part about joining the team?
I’ve loved being a part of LoganSquarist because I’ve loved building stronger relationships with the small business owners in the area. They work so hard, and it’s really a joy for me to be able to do something to (hopefully) help them grow what they’ve put in blood, sweat and tears to build.
