One of Logan Square’s beloved restaurants and bars is leaving the scene this weekend. The General (2528 N. California Ave.) announced Jan. 2 that after two and a half years in Logan Square, the business is shutting down. The Facebook post reads:
Friends of The General, we want to thank you for supporting us the past two and a half years at our Logan Square home. It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing our last two days of operation will be this Friday and Saturday. Please come out and say goodbye with us one more time.
The restaurant was known for its southern comfort brunch and late dinner menu, not to mention its cocktails and homemade desserts.
To celebrate the bar’s closing, it is hosting a farewell party tonight starting now and tomorrow, Jan. 6 starting at 9 p.m. It will also feature its last Bluegrass brunch starting at 11 a.m. with musician Ben Benedict, who will play from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. If you want to catch The General one last time, now is your chance!
