What’s your role with LoganSquarist?
Where are you from originally?
Santa Clarita, California (a suburb of Los Angeles)
When did you join?
September 2016. A friend saw a call for event managers on Instagram and sent it my way!
How long have you lived in Logan Square?
I’ve lived in Logan Square since 2012 (wow, time flies!). My then-boyfriend-now-husband lived here and I had the chance to check it out quite a bit. I fell in love with the neighborhood and decided to move here as well.
What made you interested in volunteering for LoganSquarist?
I was excited to get more experience planning and executing events, to meet new people, and to explore the neighborhood more.
What is your favorite LoganSquarist event you worked on?
I’ve enjoyed all of them but I especially loved working on the 2018 Beat the Winter Blues event at Temple of Kriya Yoga!
What is your favorite restaurant in Logan Square?
That is such a tough question—I seem to have a new favorite every day! But if I have to choose, I’d say Lula Cafe, with Buona Terra and Dos Urban Cantina as ties for second place. But truly, the fave list is days long!
What’s your favorite thing to do in the neighborhood?
I love going to the Logan Square Farmer’s Market in the summer! I also love taking a nice walk down Logan Boulevard on a beautiful day or warm night.
What has been the best part about joining the team?
I’ve made many new friends and have gained wonderful career experience. LoganSquarist has also given me the chance to learn more about the neighborhood and meet and connect with new people and businesses.
