What’s your role with LoganSquarist?
Where are you from originally?
I was born and raised in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii and went to college in Seattle, Washington.
When did you join?
I started in June 2017.
Do you work in communications professionally?
Yes, I work managing conference logistics at Ragan Communications.
What made you interested in volunteering for LoganSquarist?
I wanted a chance to be more involved in the community, work on the awesome events that LoganSquarist puts on and meet new people.
What is your favorite restaurant or hang out in Logan Square?
I love Cellar Door Provisions! Everything on the menu is delicious and I love how it is always changing with the season and using ingredients and flavors in unique ways. Their pastries are heavenly and I think they are making the best food in Chicago.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the neighborhood?
I have a (nearly) two-year-old daughter so we spend a lot of time at the parks. Palmer Square is my favorite because of the large trees, fun play area and grassy picnic space. We also spend a lot of time biking the boulevards and the Bloomingdale Trail.
What has been the best part about joining the team?
There are so many talented people on the team, and I love being inspired by their creativity in events and the great journalist and photographers on the team.
What have you learned from working with LSQ?
Working with LSQ has been a great way to connect with small businesses in Logan Square that I didn’t know about.
