If you joined us for the 2018 Taco Crawl on Sept. 29, we hope you had a delicious time! If you haven’t had a chance to fill out our survey, there’s still time. Thank you to all who crawled with us and the taquerias we visited. Here’s a recap of the places we hit, the tacos we ate and the drinks we sipped!

Dos Urban Cantina (2829 W. Armitage Ave.)
Taqueria Los Comales (2148 N Milwaukee Ave.)
El Cid (2645 N. Kedzie Ave.)
Cafe Con Leche (2714 N. Milwaukee Ave.)
Paulie Gee’s (2451 N. Milwaukee Ave.)
Our crawl began at Dos Urban Cantina, where they served up their carnitas taco with habanero salsa, onion and cilantro, paired perfectly with their house margarita.

Next, we ventured to Taqueria Los Comales and chowed on an assortment of beef, steak, pork, chicken, veggie tacos. We kept the margarita game going strong and filled the restaurant with a sea of red shirts and loud chatter.

El Cid was next, serving their steak taco, Al Pastor taco, or veggie taco, all on corn tortillas. Although it was slightly chilly, we sat outside with heaters and had the patio all to ourselves. The co-owner walked around, made friends with some and was all smiles as we ordered drinks and got warm with tacos.
The crawl continued at Cafe Con Leche with slow roasted pork tacos with pickled onion and a crumbled cheese with caramelized onions, spicy pimientos and cilantro as a veggie option. Margaritas and sangria flowed and people were getting tired from all the drinks and tacos.
The 2018 crawl ended at our not-so-secret: Paulie Gee’s! They served up a taco pizza: Hey Hey Hey, it’s Fat Al-Pastor! There was a gluten-free focaccia-like crust, a jackfruit veggie version and many meat ones circulating. The pizzas kept coming; there was enough for people to have seconds and take advantage of the special taco pizza Paulie Gee’s made just for us! And two delicious margaritas: Orange Blossom & Max Maxine were also part of the deal.

Thank you as well to everyone who participated in the 2018 LoganSquarist Taco Crawl and to the chefs and businesses who cooked up our tasty treats. This is why we love the community and do what we do! Muchas gracias a todos! Check out more photos from the crawl below.
