When leverage correctly, data can create a distinction for organizations that will better connect to their customers/clients and support achieving their business goals. LoganSquarist is a great opportunity to share my experience and for me to learn from others.
What made you interested in volunteering for LoganSquarist?
There are many reasons I wanted to get involved but the two at the forefront are a desire to give back to the community and to learn from the talented members of LoganSquarist. Positively impacting the neighborhood where I live is important to me. LoganSquarist is an excellent organization that supports the community in many different facets and is a great way to be involved.
I have met some incredible people within and outside the organization that

What is your favorite LoganSquarist project you’ve worked on?
I volunteered to work our booth at the Logan Square Centennial Monument Celebration. The history of the 100-year-old monument is pretty incredible, and it is neat that it still makes an impact in the community today. There were so many individuals there to support the neighborhood. I learned a lot about other organizations within the neighborhood, but more importantly, it was great to see other neighbors come out to support the community. Plus, I got to see Aloft Circus perform. One hundred years of history combined with a modern-day art performance—all within walking distance from my front door!
What is your favorite restaurant or hang out in Logan Square?
This is definitely a hard one to answer because there are so many good places to go. I do love Longman and Eagle—great whiskey, food, and cocktails. I’ve been there many times. Other places would be Hopewell, Revolution, Emporium and the Radler.
What’s your favorite thing to do in the neighborhood?
Right now, I enjoy taking my seven-month-old son for a walk around the neighborhood. We will walk down Milwaukee and sometimes stop and pick something up at the Dill Pickle or grab a quick coffee. He loves to be outside and checking out the world. He had a great time hanging out in the square last weekend.
What has been the best part about joining the team?
Participating in the community and learning from some very talented volunteers from all backgrounds.
What have you learned from working with LSQ?
In the time I have been with the organization, I have learned a lot. Kate Hamilton is a fantastic digital marketer. To learn from her professional experience and from her accomplishments with LoganSquarist is phenomenal. The whole spectrum from A to Z, with establishing the website and the dedicated work of all the volunteers, is beyond impressive. It is a testament to that “if you can dream it, you can make it happen.” It’s truly a unique experience that I will take with me to any future business opportunities.
