Hopewell Brewing Co. (2760 N. Milwaukee Ave.) celebrated its third year March 2 and we were happy to be part of the festivities. Their space was full of light and the vibe was full of cheer!
Nathan Lurz, a Hopewell regular who has come to almost every event since they opened, shared why he loves coming there so much. “Obviously, I love that it’s dog friendly” (his dog Cooper was at his side). “When you come here it really feels like a neighborhood place. A lot of people from the neighborhood are here and it’s very Cheers-like—everyone does know your name! The owners, and everyone who comes here, are very welcoming and the beer is really great!”
Hopewell’s birthday celebration also marked the release of their new oak-aged wild ale made with 400 pounds of peaches from Klug Farm. Samantha Lee, one of the co-founders of Hopewell, let me know Stonethrow is the first of many new wild ales to come over the next six months and we can’t be more excited to try them all—it was delicious!
