Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 12 and if you’re wondering how best to celebrate the woman who’s been your constant rock and biggest cheerleader, check out what’s happening in Logan Square.
Chiya Chai Cafe (2770 N. Milwaukee Ave.)
Logan Square’s resident Nepalese cafe is celebrating Mother’s Day with a special three course brunch for $18 per person that includes one of their famous chai beverages; a savory pie, dumplings, or curry bowl; and chili potatoes or kale. Or opt for dinner in Chiya Chia’s Backroom and receive 20 percent off dinner and $2 off beer, wine, and cocktails.
Daisies (2523 N. Milwaukee Ave.)
Daisies is honoring moms with a kid-friendly prix fix brunch for $39 per person—but kids 12 years and under eat free! How’s that for kid friendly? Brunch includes homemade pastries, a brunch cocktail, and entrées such as rhubarb flapjacks and breakfast carbonara. Visit their website to make reservations and see the full menu.
Dos Urban Cantina (2829 W. Armitage Ave.)
This upscale Mexican restaurant usually doesn’t host a weekend brunch but for Mom, they’re making an exception. Dos Urban Cantina is going all out with an all-you-can-eat buffet for $28 per person (kids eat free!) from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The extensive menu includes dishes such as tamales, chilaquiles, quiche, and ceviche, as well as baked goods like cinnamon rolls and Texas sheet cake. Check out their website for more information and to make reservations.
Fleur (2651 N. Milwaukee Ave.)
Mother’s Day and bouquets go together like Thanksgiving and pumpkin pie, so go ahead and surprise Mom with a gorgeously crafted arrangement from Fleur—they’re definitely ready for this special weekend! Don’t forget to check out their other wares, too, like planters, jewelry, and fragrances.
Katherine Anne Confections (2745 W. Armitage Ave.)
Does your mom have a sweet tooth? Visit Katherine Anne Confections to customize a three, seven, or twenty piece truffle box just for Mom featuring some of her favorite treats and maybe something new, like their caramel and pineapple with pink peppercorn truffle.
Osteria Langhe (2824 W. Armitage Ave.)
Logan Square’s acclaimed Italian restaurant rarely opens its doors for lunch but for Mother’s Day, Osteria Langhe will be open from 11am – 3pm in addition to their regular dinner service. Visit their website to reserve your table.
Pan Artesanal Bakery (3724 W. Fullerton Ave.)
This family-owned, French and Mexican inspired bakery is celebrating Mother’s Day all weekend. Bring Mom or Grandma to this sweet shop and receive 10% off your total order Friday, May 10 — Sunday, May 12. Park & Field (3509 W. Fullerton Ave.)
Let’s face it: moms definitely deserve a drink on Mother’s Day. A break from cooking and washing dishes wouldn’t be amiss as well, so check out Park & Field’s Mother’s Day Boozy Brunch. With two seatings available at 10am for $40 per person and 1pm for $45 per person, guests can enjoy a buffet spread including charcuterie, an omelet bar, smoked salmon, pancakes, and of course, bottomless mimosas, Bloody Marys, rosé, and High Life.
