Around 1 a.m. early Wednesday morning, Alyssa Bryner was leaving Estereo (2450 N. Milwaukee Ave.) when she and her boyfriend noticed their car had been broken into.
Bryner, who lives close by, said the only thing that was stolen was her boyfriend’s backpack, which contained no valuables. The passenger side window was smashed to bits, she said. The police were notified and a police report was filed.
She said she was parked on the Sacramento Avenue side of the bar, a very lit and prime area of the neighborhood. She said she was very shocked this accident would happen in a popular area of the neighborhood and by a bar.
“All in all I feel pretty lucky but annoyed,” Bryner said.
She said this is a reminder for people to always be aware and that robberies like this can still happen at any time.

There have not been any break-ins recently in the area, but Block Club Chicago reported recent gunshots were fired July 9 on the Milwaukee Avenue bar stretch. It was the second gunshot incident in recent weeks. In late June, La Colombe’s roastery got hit with multiple bullets in early morning hours.
