It’s already been one year since Pretty Cool Ice Cream (2353 N. California Ave.) has been in the neighborhood. The ice cream shop is celebrating its anniversary throughout all of September.
To commemorate the year, Logan Square’s most Instagram-able pop shop is reviving some old favorites, unveiling some collaboration pops, and bringing back the party pops. Pretty Cool has so far highlighted its churro pop, Chance the Snapper pop, and the caramel cheese popcorn inspired Chicago Mix bar. Keep an eye on their Instagram for what’s in store next.
Co-owned by pastry chef Dana Salls Cree and Bang Bang Pie’s Michael Ciapciak, Pretty Cool has enjoyed a successful inaugural year marked by city-wide recognition, fun partnerships, and plenty of collaborations. In just their first year, Pretty Cool joined Wrigley Field’s Chef Series lineup, was named Chicago Magazine’s Best Frozen Treats of 2019, rocked out with their pops out at Lollapalooza, and worked with Chicago favorites like Marz Community Brewing Co., Sip of Hope, Big Star, Kimski, and Honey Butter Fried Chicken.
So, swing by Pretty Cool this month to help them celebrate all they’ve achieved so far and catch some oldie but goodie pops before they’re gone! And it’s a great way to enjoy the last days of summer and good weather.
