All Illinois restaurants and bars are closed for dine-in, per governer’s orders, but you can still order delivery or pickup and support them. Find out how here.
Elsewhere, local music venues and businesses of all kinds are closing for at least two weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak. To keep the community updated, here’s a running list of places that are closed and taking a break so we can all hibernate, stay safe and rest inside our own home as much as possible. Keep scrolling to find out ways to help these businesses and others who are most at risk for the virus and impacted by these closures.
Comfort Station
On Thursday, Comfort Station canceled all programming for the foreseeable future, including its 8th Annual Logan Square Chef’s dinner at Lula Café. If you purchased tickets, you should have already received an email notifying you of your refund, said the business. If you have any issues with this, please contact them for more info.
1st Ward community events
Alderman Daniel La Spata’s office announced they are postponing all community events for March and April. This includes the 1st Ward zoning first look and site-specific zoning meetings, legislative meetings, community meetings and Fridays with the 1st Ward.
Elastic Arts
As of Friday, Elastic Arts canceled events this week and the next, and will update the community on social media soon.
The Hideout
The Hideout is closing its doors for now and encouraged people to support its employees who are out of work temporarily through its Virtual Tavern. Ticket refunds for shows will be processed as soon as possible, but the owners are asking customers to be patient, due to the high volume of refunds.
“We have every intention of opening back up as soon as we can,” said Katie Tuten, one of four co-owners. “We will be remaining a place of community for years to come.”

*play will close all three shops to in-store shopping beginning March 17 until March 31. The store is still open for pickup orders and delivery is complementary with a $50 order.
Steel Petal Press

Concord Music Hall
Concord will close and postpone all shows until May 1. For the most up-to-date information on shows, check the company’s official Facebook page and frequently check its website.
Intelligentsia Coffee
The coffee shop business is closing all of its locations starting March 17.
Tula Yoga
Tula is closed but you can still do yoga on-demand classes with their live stream selection!
Hairpin Arts Center
Hairpin is closed until March 31 but is still open March 17 as a voting polling place.

Some awesome residents are organizing ways to help those most at risk of the coronavirus through mutual aid volunteering with groups such as the Food Not Bombs and Chicago Action Medical, who are organizing mutual aid. If you wish to help the community, sign up here.
