As the incomparable Ina Garten recently said, “It’s always cocktail hour in a crisis!” And whether you’re a little tired of your at-home concoctions or missing some of your favorite neighborhood watering holes, these Logan Square bars and restaurants have got you and your quarantined happy hour covered.
Logan Square’s OG cocktail bar, The Whistler (2421 N. Milwaukee Ave.), recently launched its curbside cocktail program. Guests can order from a selection of craft drink mixes, including the Verdita, which has cilantro, mint, pineapple, lime, sugar, habanero and jalapeño peppers; you can also order beer, cider and spirits. Orders can be placed on the Whisler’s website and are available for pick-up from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. daily.
Land and Sea Dept.’s Parson’s Chicken and Fish (2952 W. Armitage Ave.) and Lonesome Rose (2101 N. California Ave.) may have closed their doors to diners but you can still find them and their frozen cocktails, on Caviar. Just because you can’t sit under those iconic Parson’s umbrellas or hang on Lonesome Rose’s rooftop doesn’t mean you can’t have yourself one of their signature Negroni slushies or frozen margaritas.
Estereo (2450 N. Milwaukee Ave.) is offering their popular cocktail mixes for curbside pick-up from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. daily. Choose from the signature Breezy mix (Falernum, yerba mate, lime, carbonation) or fresh La Palmoa mix (Texas ruby red grapefruit, lime, Maldon, carbonation), as well as a selection of spirits. Check their Instagram and Facebook for more info and updates.
Cocktails not your thing but still looking to drink local? Pilot Project (2140 N. Milwaukee Ave.) is offering its wide range of beers, hard kombuchas, and ciders for delivery through Caviar and GrubHub, or pick-up onsite. Similarly, Maplewood Brewery and Distillery (2717 N. Maplewood Ave.) has made its selection of beers and spirits available for delivery through Caviar and GrubHub, or pick-up onsite. Fans of Hopewell Brewing Co. (2760 N. Milwaukee Ave.) can place orders for pick-up or delivery via its website. And over in neighboring Avondale, Sleeping Village (3734 W. Belmont Ave.) has more than two dozen craft beer growlers available to order for curbside pick-up, Tuesday – Saturday from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.
