While we won’t be able to enjoy drinks on your favorite patio or picnics on the boulevard anytime soon, summer isn’t going to be a total wash. And nothing heralds the beginning of warmer days in Logan Square more than when Miko’s Italian Ice opens for the season, which is now open for business.

But in these COVID-19 days, don’t expect to queue up in front of that iconic green window as usual. Like all other restaurants in Chicago, Miko’s strives to keep transactions as contactless and socially distant as possible. Customers should place their orders on the website and then select specific times for either curbside pick-up (to have someone bring the order to your car), delivery (Logan Square area, $12 minimum), or walk-up window pick-up.
The business has placed light green tape on the ground to make social distancing easier when picking up orders, and a big yellow section of tape indicating where to stand when you get your order.
This month’s hours, weather permitting, are Monday – Friday from 1 p.m. – 6 p.m. and on the weekend from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. Miko’s will offer a limited menu of their classic favorites like lemon, coconut, strawberry, mango, and banana chip but sign up for their weekly flavor update email or keep an eye on their Instagram for new and seasonal flavors.
