What do you do at LoganSquarist?
I’m one of the social media community managers
Where are you from originally?
La Crosse, Wis.
When did you join?
June of 2015
Do you run social media professionally?
Yes, I do. It’s not something I had the opportunity to study in college because it wasn’t as relevant back then. But through my work in salons and restaurants, I’ve been able to hone my skills and have taken full advantage of free classes and workshops.
What made you interested in participating with LoganSquarist?
A friend of mine had joined and always talked about how much fun they had at the monthly meet ups. It seemed like a great way to make friends! I joined, and sure enough, I’ve made friends with some really wonderful, creative peoples.
What is your favorite LoganSquarist social media campaign you ran?
I really enjoy our ongoing #mylogansquare feature! It’s been really exciting to see the neighborhood from a different perspective. There’s so much to do and see in Logan Square, so it’s fun to continue to learn about new events and businesses that I might otherwise miss out on!
What is your favorite restaurant in Logan Square?
Aw man, this is SUCH a hard question. I love Reno; they have so many great things to offer all day long. The PB&J at Boiler Room will always hold a special place in my heart. If I’m working from home, I order carry out from Anong Thai. There’s no lack of delicious options in this neighborhood!
What’s your favorite thing to do in the neighborhood?
My absolute favorite thing to do is spend the day on the boulevard in the summer. I get all my friends over, and we have a huge picnic, play lawn games and listen to music until the sun goes down. These moments have me longing for spring and summer.
What has been the best part about joining the team?
It’s been amazing to make so many connections and friends in the neighborhood. Honestly, it’s some of the most effective networking I’ve ever experienced, and I’ve met so many people I’m proud to call my friends.
