    For the past five years Paper Moon has been baking behind closed doors, quietly providing delicious baked goods for neighborhood coffee shops, specialty grocery stores, and local farmers markets.

    My name is Ana. I have been a pastry chef for over twelve years, and i am the owner and head baker at Paper Moon Pastry.

    I was born in Chicago and was a resident of Logan Square throughout the late 1990’s. I left my beloved neighborhood in 1999 and spent the next ten years baking my way across the U.S. before returning in 2009.

    During my time away, I worked at various cakeshops, restaurants and bakeries, attended culinary school, won several awards for my work, including Tucson Metromix “Best Desserts”, and was selected from hundreds of other applicants to win an internship from WCR with iron chef Elizabeth Falkner.

    I started baking under the name Paper Moon Pastry almost six years ago, as a home-based cake and catering service from the apartment on Logan Boulevard I shared with two roommates.

    I then began renting commercial kitchen space from various local restaurants and cafes, building my wholesale business and doing farmers markets and catering local galleries.

    Paper Moon now accepts orders for cakes, pies, cupcakes, and specialty items all of which are made from scratch without any artificial ingredients.

    I can and will bake just about anything, and i can make it vegan and even make it gluten-free if you’d like.

    I love baking. I love chicago. I probably love you too. Well, maybe. If you order a cake from me you will most definitely feel the love I put into everything I make.
